Search engines, what can I do to get listed?

It used to be quite easy to get your site listed with search engines, but not anymore. Most have now introduced a payment system to either list your site or offer ADWORDS (pay per click) to make sure it will appear towards the top of a search listing.

It can also take several months  for a site to appear in a search engine, from the moment it is submitted. Your site’s design will matter for search engines’ listing and things like the ‘title’, ‘description’ and ‘keywords’ meta tags are essential if you want your site to be listed.

Using Wordpress blogging software and making regular updates to your site is a really good way to get ‘noticed’ by Google and other search engines!
